terms & acceptable use

effective 2026-07-29

late.sh is a free hobby project run by one person. These are the rules for using it. Short version: the whole service is 18+ and adult content can turn up anywhere, don't post anything illegal, don't post anyone who hasn't agreed to be posted, and the operator can remove anything and ban anyone.

# 1. who runs this

late.sh ("the service") is operated by Mateusz Piorowski, a private individual resident in Poland, reachable at admin@dwarfforge.io. That address is also the contact point for abuse reports, content removal requests, and data protection questions.

There is no company behind this. It is a personal project, provided free of charge, with no commercial purpose.

# 2. the deal

The service is provided free, as is, and with no guarantee that it works, stays online, or keeps your data. There is no SLA, no support obligation, and no promise of backups. It may change or shut down at any time, without notice.

There are no accounts and no passwords. Your SSH public key fingerprint is your identity. Anyone holding your private key is you, as far as the service can tell. Keep it safe.

By connecting to the service you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, disconnect and do not use it.

# 3. age

You must be 18 or older to use late.sh. There is no younger tier and no general-audience area. The service permits consensual adult content, so the whole service is adults only.

Adult content may appear in any room, without warning. Images posted in chat are rendered inline and automatically, so you can encounter one without choosing to open it. If that is not acceptable to you, wherever you are or whoever is behind you, do not use the service.

The operator does not run formal age verification. Connecting to the service is your representation that you are 18 or older. If the operator has reason to believe a user is a minor, that user will be banned.

# 4. acceptable use

This section is the acceptable use policy. It applies to chat, direct messages, rooms, the artboard, profiles, uploaded images, game content, usernames, and anything else you can put into the service.

never, under any circumstances
  • ├─ Sexual content involving anyone under 18, real or drawn or generated. This is reported to law enforcement and banned permanently, with no warning and no appeal.
  • ├─ Intimate images of a person who has not consented to their publication, including images shared to harass, coerce, or take revenge on someone.
  • ├─ Sexual content depicting non-consent, coercion, or animals.
  • ├─ Content that is illegal under Polish or EU law, or that incites violence or hatred against a person or group.
  • ├─ Doxxing: posting someone's private information without their consent.
  • └─ Malware, credential theft, or using the service to attack other systems.
adult content

Consensual adult content is allowed. There are no designated rooms for it and no content gate: the service is adults-only throughout, and moderators remove whatever they judge does not belong in a given room. Sending it to someone in a direct message who did not ask for it is harassment, and is covered by the conduct rules below.

If you post adult content, you confirm all of the following, and you must be able to confirm it again if the operator asks:

  • ├─ Every identifiable person depicted is 18 or older.
  • ├─ Every identifiable person depicted has agreed to the content being published here, specifically. Consent to be photographed is not consent to be posted.
  • └─ You have the right to publish it.

Consent can be withdrawn. If any person depicted asks for the content to come down, it comes down, and the operator does not need the poster's agreement to remove it. This applies whatever the relationship between the people involved was at the time of posting.

The operator may remove any of it from any room at any time, and may withdraw permission for adult content entirely, for any reason, including "this became more trouble than it is worth".

general conduct
  • ├─ No harassment, stalking, or targeted abuse of other users.
  • ├─ No spam, advertising, or mass unsolicited messaging.
  • ├─ No impersonating other users, the operator, or the system account.
  • ├─ No posting other people's copyrighted work without permission.
  • ├─ No attempts to break, overload, or circumvent the service's limits, bans, or moderation.
  • └─ No using the service to store or distribute files unrelated to it.
# 5. your content

You keep ownership of what you post. You are responsible for it, including for having the rights and the consent needed to post it.

You grant the operator the permission needed to run the service: to store your content, show it to other users, include it in room history and archives, and keep artboard snapshots. This permission is non-exclusive, unpaid, and limited to operating late.sh.

Uploaded images are stored in third-party object storage and served from public URLs. Anyone who has the URL can open it, whether or not they use late.sh, and whether or not the message is still visible in chat. Treat anything you upload as public.

# 6. reporting content

To report content or a user, email admin@dwarfforge.io, or tell a moderator in the service. Include enough detail to find it: the room, the username, roughly when, and why you are reporting it.

This is the notice mechanism under Article 16 of the EU Digital Services Act. Reports are reviewed by a human, not automatically. Reports about sexual content involving minors and about intimate images posted without consent are handled first, ahead of everything else.

If you are depicted in content posted here and want it removed, say so and it will be removed. You do not have to explain why, and you do not have to prove a relationship to whoever posted it.

# 7. enforcement

The operator and moderators may remove any content and restrict any user, at their discretion. Available measures include deleting messages, slow mode, removal from a room, room bans, artboard and audio bans, and temporary or permanent bans from the whole service.

Where practical you will be told what happened and why. For the prohibitions in section 4 marked "never", enforcement is immediate and permanent, with no notice.

Moderation actions are logged. There is no formal appeals process; if you think a decision was wrong, email the address above and a human will read it.

# 8. liability

The service is free and provided as is, with no warranty of any kind. To the extent Polish law allows, the operator is not liable for lost data, downtime, or damage arising from your use of the service, or for what other users post.

Nothing here limits liability for intentional harm or gross negligence, or any liability that cannot be excluded under mandatory law.

# 9. privacy

The operator is the data controller for personal data processed by the service. Stored data: your SSH key fingerprint, your chosen username, your settings, when you were last seen, and what you post: chat messages, scores, profiles, and uploaded images. The full public key is not stored, only its fingerprint.

It is processed for one purpose, running late.sh, on the basis of providing you the service under these terms and the operator's legitimate interest in keeping it safe. No advertising, no tracking, no sale or sharing of data for marketing. Data reaches third parties only as infrastructure: the servers the service runs on and the object storage that holds uploaded images, processing it on the operator's behalf.

Data is kept while the service runs, or until you ask for deletion. One exception: when moderators remove a message, its content is kept in the moderation log, so that rule-breaking content cannot be hidden by deleting the evidence, and so takedown requests can still be traced to the removed content.

You have the rights the GDPR gives you, including access, correction, deletion, objection, and complaint to the Polish supervisory authority (UODO). To exercise them, email the address above.

# 10. changes

These terms can change. The effective date at the top says when this version started applying. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the new version.

# 11. law

Polish law applies. If you are a consumer resident in the EU, you keep the protections of the mandatory consumer law of your own country, and you may bring proceedings in your own country's courts.
