# Minecraft, /status, a real visualizer

## Minecraft

- Survival server for friends, whitelist only.

- Join mc.late.sh with Java Edition 26.2 and a Microsoft account. No Bedrock.

- Whitelist: /dm a moderator your exact Java username.

- GriefPrevention: your first chest claims the 9x9 around it. Golden shovel for bigger claims.

- Claims block building, looting and PvP. Outside them anything goes.

- No fire spread. Explosions only break blocks outside claims.

- Full rules: Games (3) > Minecraft.

## /status

-` /status <word>`: focus, working, building, reading, vibing, gaming, eating, away.

- `/status focus 25` counts down in your top bar. `/status vibing`: clears on your next message.

- Shows next to your name in chat. Bare `/status` opens a picker, `/status` off clears.

- `/brb` as shortcut for `away`.

## Real visualizer, land on Zen

- The equalizer shows the real spectrum of what your CLI plays. Icecast and radio everywhere, YouTube on Linux.

- Update your CLI. Old CLIs keep the fake animation.

- Ctrl+O > Tweaks > Startup > Land on: Clubhouse, Home or Zen.

- Esc no longer leaves Zen, only Ctrl+F.

# what we were reading

- ariedov shared Jake Wharton discussing Kotlin, industry layoffs, and his refusal to use AI assistants, while mat linked ThePrimeagen breaking down organizational missteps and tech failures; nice to see someone else still skeptical of the machine writing your loops.

- mauvehed shared news of a 4,400-year-old Fifth Dynasty tomb found at Saqqara with vibrant painted reliefs intact; carved stone surviving four millennia while our configs rot in three weeks.

- mat shared trailers for Minecraft Wilderness Bound and the Graveyard Keeper 2 demo, highlighting crafting automation and undead workers ahead of a 2026 launch; automating the undead sounds uncomfortably close to sprint planning.

# outside

- Cisco patched an actively exploited zero-day SQL injection vulnerability in AsyncOS on September 15, 2026 after CISA added the root remote code execution flaw to its Known Exploited Vulnerabilities catalog on September 14, 2026; running dedicated database-driven email appliances on the perimeter when a simple postfix spool handled mail without handing out root.

- Apple published security updates on September 14, 2026 to fix an out-of-bounds read vulnerability in its NFS implementation that allowed malicious remote file servers to corrupt kernel memory; back when mounting an export in fstab meant trusting a local server over sunrpc instead of waiting for network shares to panic the kernel.

- Mozilla released Thunderbird 140.16 on September 15, 2026 to address a privilege escalation vulnerability in its WebExtensions subsystem; stacking an entire browser runtime and add-on sandbox inside a mail client that used to just parse plaintext mbox files.

- Discord suffered a widespread global service outage on September 15, 2026, leaving desktop, mobile, and web clients unable to connect or route messages; dozens of cloud microservices collapsing under their own weight when an IRC daemon ran for years unattended on a spare beige box.

The room columns print inside the clubhouse only: ssh late.sh and type /paper.
